[Home] [Alpe d'Huez] [Avoriaz] [Folgarida] [Niederau] [Sansicario] [Val d'Isere] [Val Thorens]
Avoriaz sits on top of a huge rock face and can be seen from Morzine in the valley below.
There are no cars allowed in the town and it has a village area for small children.
Avoriaz is part of one of the largest skiing areas in the world 'Porte Du Soliel' which is covered by the full pass.
Suffice to say that there is something for eveyone here.
There are even some laid out circuits based on ability.
There are gentle blue runs such as 'Super Morzine' through to very difficult blacks like the world famous 'Wall'.

You can easily ski over into nearby Switzerland or down the long blue to Les Prodans. The World Cup run, if you are up to blacks, is a must. It ranks up there with one of the best runs ever.
For the more adventerous who want a good day out I would recommend a round trip to Chatel.
The three holidays that I have had here were all with Crystal and I must say that they were nothing short of superb. Chalet Andre however is no longer available.
The last few visits have been to Chalet Dolores. A picturesque chalet at the top of a hill.
For both of these trips our rep was Ronni.
We cannot recommend him highly enough and if Crystal had more like him then they would have no worries (see Alpe D'Huez).
Good chalet if a bit cramped, but aren't they all.
| Summary |
|---|
As I have been there three times it's not difficult to follow that I like this resort, a lot ! I would go back tomorrow. |
Uppers - Large area plenty of variety. Central to the whole area. High at 1800m. |
Downer - Our chalet was at the top of a big hill (great to get out of but a hard slog back). |
